Kapok House, Anjuna

<p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Kapok House is a 60-year-old Goan heritage home restored through an Indo-Portuguese lens. Original elements like the classic balcão seating and the distinctive three-tiered Mangalore-tile roof remain central to the design, while verandahs have been added to create generous sit-out spaces around the home.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The house takes its name from the Kapok tree that anchors the front yard. Known for its cotton-like fibres used in upholstery, the tree also supports a thoughtfully built treehouse that offers a bird’s-eye view of the property and its outdoor spaces.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The homeowner’s brief was clear: retain the feel of a boutique homestay rather than turning it into a modern new-build.
